7. Video Surveillance in the Hotel

Purpose of surveillance
To exercise our house rules and for the safety of our guests and staff, certain hotel areas are under video surveillance. Recordings help prevent and investigate criminal offences and protect people and property.

Legal basis
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring operational security and protection against unauthorised access or damage.

Monitored areas
Public hotel areas such as the entrance area, reception, lobby, corridors and lift access. There is no video surveillance in rooms, sanitary or rest areas.

Storage period
Recordings are automatically deleted once they are no longer required for the stated purposes or statutory retention periods expire (generally after no more than 72 hours).

Recipients
Only authorised Garden Hotel Krefeld staff have access to the recordings. Data is disclosed to third parties only where necessary to enforce legal claims or investigate criminal offences.
